Danielle, i have to disagree. Music can mean as much to a person as family. I have a tribute tattoo for Dimebag Darrell Abbott, as well as 2 other music related tatts. If something inspires you or helps get you through a tough time, marking that with ink isn’t dumb. That being said, random celeb tattoos are dumb. (For proof look back a little and see the Borat tattoo) this is nicely done portrait, i’m not a Manson fan, but the art is done well.
I agree with hellonwheels. Music can mean a lot to someone and can get them through some hard times. If someone gets a tattoo of a specific band it does NOT make them a moron, it just shows how important that band/musician is to them. People who are so closed minded about such tattoos are actually the morons, especially if they are judging the person for getting the tat before they even know the reason behind it. My next tat is going to be a tribute to my favorite band (311) that I have loved since ’96 and I will be very proud to show it off…even if judgmental assholes like Danielle aren’t going to understand it.
I think advertising one’s fandom is kind of weak-minded silliness. But hey, if Justin Bieber, Marilyn Manson or 311 (worst thing out of Omaha) “got you through some tough times,” then by all means make yourself a billboard for them. Sigh. I live in a world of mental smurfs.
